YAHUKIMO - The Task Forces of the Infantry Battalion 6 Marines, part of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command (KOOPS TNI) in Papua, is currently carrying out the mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in the Yahukimo Regency area, Papua Pegunungan Province. On Tuesday, 2 July 2024, in the context of regional security duties, The Marines Task Forces carried out a Joint Patrol together with the Indonesian Polices (Polri) and several Community Figures in the Sokamu Village, Dekai District.
The Joint Patrol Program is one of the flagship programs of the Marines Task Forces Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Rismanto Manurung. Creativity in creating a safe and peaceful situation in Papua is the main thing that the Marines Task Forces continues to do. With this program, the TNI Soldiers in the Sokamu Village used their patrol to work hand in hand with the Police Officers and the Community Figures to check and ensure that the security in the Sokamu area remains conducive.
By continuing to prioritize the security aspect, the Marines Task Forces Patrol Team began inspection activities of vehicles and materials by shaking hands and having dialogue with the residents they met. This effort was made to prioritize the humanist side of the Joint Patrol. The polite attitude shown by the Soldiers received a review from one of those questioned, Mr Damian Mare. He said, “Bapak Tentara (the Soldiers) politely greeted us. Hopefully, the Papua remains safe. God bless".
"The creativity of the Marines Task Forces in holding a Joint Patrol in the Sokamu Village, is a form of the TNI's efforts to maintain conducive security in the Papua region, " said the KOOPS TNI Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, upon receiving the program report.
